How soon do you need to get a tetanus shot after you've been punctured by an old nail?

I just stepped on a nail sticking up out of a board. Ouch!! However, I'm about to take off on an 8-hour trip. Can I safely get the shot 24 hours from now?How soon do you need to get a tetanus shot after you've been punctured by an old nail?
It depends when you had your last tetanus vaccination. If it is recently, then you should be able to wait 24 hours, but just to play it safe, I'd ask your doctor. Good luck and have a great trip.

If you have had a tetanus shot within the last 10 years, you should be safe. But I'd get the booster shot as soon as you can, to not take any chances. How soon do you need to get a tetanus shot after you've been punctured by an old nail?
should go soon has you can if you dont how long its been and ive step on nials many time working around house building and never went so its not really a big thing if you put something on it you should be ok if it wasnt rusted and just a new nail you be sore a couple days sucks but try shooting a three inch nail thru your foot and then have to use a hammer to get loose now that sucks
If possible , before the puncture!

Seriously, it is advised to take regular Tet Vac shots if someone is prone to injuries. Then person has sure tet. prophylaxis.

As in yr case, get it ASAP.
that might be too long, you should get one as soon as possible, infection can set in well before the 24 hour mark
The sooner the better. That shot hurts like hell, fyi.
I would try to get it sooner if you can... can you drop by the ER before you head out of town? I could be wrong, but I think it's better to go sooner....

I'm no doctor though...
get a tetanus shot the sooner the best, just in case
If I were you curious, I would get a shot for it A.S.A.P! If you dont get it quick, the infection will spread to the rest of the area and will cause it to become worse. My dad did that once, and we took him to the doctor's, which was only about an hour away, and he got the shot and heturned out fine. SO if I were you, I would get it A.S.A.P
you should only wait the length of time it takes for you to get to a doctor or ER

How does a hammer used to pull a nail from a board change the direction of the force?

HELP PLEASE I NEED THIS BY TOMORROWHow does a hammer used to pull a nail from a board change the direction of the force?
The hammer's claw is like a lever. Since the claw is much longer from the fulcrum point than the hammer side, it produces more force. When you stick the claw to the nail, you apply a force of downwards. Then as you turn the hammer or pull it down, it pulls the nail going upwards. Like a lever, or see-saw.How does a hammer used to pull a nail from a board change the direction of the force?
Like jcvcvc said what the hammer does is supply you with a fulcrum, such that pulling the handle, the force made to pull out the nail will be multiplied. See if you can understand it from

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lever

The Hammer is listed there as a Lever of the first kind at #6.
The curved hammer head changes the force direction. Also, the direction changes as the nail is extracted, so the geometry of the nail, the surface and the hammer changes.

My Ridge Vent leaked and has caused icicles to form on every nail in one side of my roof. How do I fix this?

The roofer says to replace the ridge vent because it was improperly installed, by the builder, and that they left the nails uncovered Also he recommended to take out one panel board (inside the attic which is covered by blackrot from the ridge vent to the soffits. The insurance company says Im covered.

However we've just had another snowstorm (BEFORE the roofers began the replacement) and now i see a sheet of ice which covers EVERY BOARD INSIDE MY ATTIC ON ONE SIDE OF THE HOUSE FROM THE RIDGE VENTS TO THE SOFFITS.

Is just replacing the ridge vent alone going to solve my problem now? Don't I need new shingles or panel boards (since the boards are covered with a sheet of ice???)My Ridge Vent leaked and has caused icicles to form on every nail in one side of my roof. How do I fix this?
try insulating between the ceiling joists and have tile vents fitted . The heat from your house rises and hits the cold roof causing condensation, the insulation stops the heat escaping and the vents give you a circulation of fresh air keeping you attic dry. it will also save you money because you wont lose so much heat keeping your heating bills down.

13 minutes ago - Report AbuseMy Ridge Vent leaked and has caused icicles to form on every nail in one side of my roof. How do I fix this?
This is one of those instances where it would be great if we could just see it!

I get icicles on my attic nails due to water vapor from using a ventless fireplace to heat the whole house. The combustion process generates quie a bit of moisture that seeps into the attic via the trap door. This condenses on the nails. Conceiveably you could have a simialr experience if your bathroom vent(s) dump into your attic and not outside.

I know you mention that this ocurrs after a storm, but I don't know if that is the only time you are checking? In other words, if it only happens after precipitation, you've got a leak as you've been informed. But if it only happens because its cold, your moisture is coming from inside your home.

The boards can take some water. You probably don't need new ones. If only the vent was buggered up, your shingles may be fine. I can't say I've heard anyone else having this type of problem, and everybody is getting ridge vents these days.
go pull them all down, cause when it thaws do you want it out side, or in??

  • How do you remove the yellowish stain on fingernails due to nail polish?

Remove the nail polish and use a nail buffer to remove the stain. How do you remove the yellowish stain on fingernails due to nail polish?
A nail buffer will definitely work, I had this stain on my toenails and when I buffed it, it came right off. Good Luck! How do you remove the yellowish stain on fingernails due to nail polish?
File it with a smooth emery board. It takes it right off!
you can use teeth whitner for the yellow stains on your nails...it works for me everytime
umm...well u can go get a manicure and the ppl their would take care of it for u, that way u get a whole new polish and get the stain off :)
There isn't much you can do when you wear polish all the time it will stain your nails unless you take it off and go without for a while. If you decide to do this you can buff your nails and it will take off some of the stain. Maybe check a beauty supply and ask them if they have something that will take off.
I have found to let the nails go without polish for sometime. maybe a few weeks
I've heard lemon juice. I usually just use on of those nail buffers. they do really good
I had the same exact problem!! What i did was file the yellowish stain off and to smooth them after i used a buffer. In the future, use a clear coat, or a base coat before painting on the colour. I had to learn that the hard way!!
A very tiny bit of bleach diluted in plain old water. like parts equal to 1/100

It is good for your nails anyway... It kills fungus and other nasties.

It is safe to do so. Dermatologists suggest it for toe fungus. Just rinse well and moisturize afterward.
I heard it would diminish with lemon juice, though I tried it on my toe nails and it didn't. You could use a bit of bleach, that seemed to help mine, but really only time and new growth will get rid of it.
Lemon juice might do the trick - try the realemon website it might have tips.
not so sure how to remove it but if you wear a base coat it will not only stop you getting stained nails it will also strengthen and nourish your nails
Stop painting your nails for a while. In the future you should wear a base coat. Red color nail polish is a big culprit.
From experience, there is nothing you can reallly do about it. I would suggest leaving them alone for awhile or just putting a clear/ clear pink shine on them. Take your vitamins and drink lots of water. Also, to help prevent the yellowness, always put a base coat down before the color.
Very LIGHTLY buff your nails with a super fine buffer.

When you wear polish in the future, make sure you use a non-yellowing clear base coat between your nail and the color--reds/oranges/dark colors stain the worst.

When you buff your natural nails always remember that every time you do, you are making your nail thinner so always do it so VERY lightly.

they sell nail whitener in stores I think it's made by sally hansen
Let them be polish free for about a week, then use only clear for awhile. Or buff the yellow off with a very low grain finger nail file or buffer sponge.
To remove the stain right away use a buffer or smooth emory board... but Always put on a clear base coat before wearing all dark colors and also cheap polishes that you got on a whim because the color was cute... :)
Use clear basecoats in the future.

Lemon juice helps get rid of nail stains.

Leave your nails without some nail polish for about 2 weeks.
that never happens to me but

you can use a nail polish remover!

i think they have that in the stores
theres this stuff you can buy at wallmart[if you shop there i love wallmart] you put it on and like a week later you have clear strong heathy nails its the stuff in the nail part of wallmart

Can plastic and acrylic nails be moulded to fit the contour of the nail and if so how is this done?

can this be done at home?someone i know is a guitarist[professional]who is using a fake nail on the thumb only instead of using a pick-but it needs to be able to sit around the shape of the nail better..any ideas ?thanksCan plastic and acrylic nails be moulded to fit the contour of the nail and if so how is this done?
My friend bought a kit from walmart where she could do her own acrylics. You just have to glue the tip on and cut it/shape it how you want and then put on the acrylic. If you know anything about acrylics, its a powder that when you add water, it turns into gel and you shape it to your finger. I'm sure that would work well.

How do I know when to have my dog's nail's trimmed?

She's a Welsh Corgi, and is 3 years old.How do I know when to have my dog's nail's trimmed?
I know when I can hear my dogs while walk going tap, tap, on the kitchen or hard wood floors. It drives me nuts! How do I know when to have my dog's nail's trimmed?
I usually dremel my dogs' nails about ever two weeks or so. It helps get and keep them used to having it done, just like grooming routine, and it keeps them at a good length to prevent injury. My dogs don't struggle or fight with the dremeling because it is just what has to be done and it is part of their routine... I find that so much nicer than doing it every now and then and them being jerky about it! I just grind back until I think I am near the quick (there is a color change to the center of the nail that sort of lets me know) and then I smooth out the edges and stop -- that way they don't get hurt and dislike it and they can be worked back to short if they have gotten away from me for a while.. I do accidently hit the quick now and then and I just go on and finish up with the smoothing and don't make a big deal out of it and the blow it off... I used to apologize and they would take advantage of that and make like they were dying or something but I figured out their sceme!
    great answer from Nancy M
The dog's nails should not reach the floor. When they do, it's time to get them cut.

This is because the nails, if touching the ground, can cause the toes to shift or bend, and if left for any length of time, can create permanent problems for the foot.

If the dog walks on concrete often, this will act as a natural nail file and trimming is less often.
our dogs nails make a horrible sound on the floors. and of course they scratch with out intending to. so about once a month for our kids.
Personally, I'd trim the nails at least once a week unless your dog walks a lot on abrasive surfaces which file down the nails while the dogs walking. Regardless, look for the ';quick'; and if the nail is fairly longer than the quick, trim it. And if you can hear your dog coming from a mile away (exaggerating)than you most than likely have to trim the nails. If the nails get to long, they can start to make the pads spread which can eventually cause major orthapedic issues. The same goes for fur in between the pads. GL :)
You should do it every few months. if not then when you can hear her nails clickin and clackin on the floor. hard to do by yourself especially if the nails are black. Id take him to get it done.
well the curve of the nail makes noise while walking on hardwood.

when u do clip them, just clip the curve. dont cut into the quick. =]

    hope this helped!
I do my dogs every other week. I try to keep it a routine so they don't fight it so mcuh.

My quaker parrot had gotten his claw stuck and had pulled his nail back, how long does it take for it to heal?

His nails arent very long, i keep them trimmed and he dulls them down on his scratching block that i had gotten him. I noticed the other morning that he was favoring his left foot when he was on his perch so I looked at it. It was a bit bloody, but not bad at all, only a drop if that. I put hydrogyn peroxide on it so it wouldnt get infected and i have been putting in on in the morning and before bed to be sure that no infection occurs. I was wondering how long it would take for this to heal since i caught it within minutes/hours of it happening. Has this happened to anyone before with their bird? Im worried. Should I go to the vet with him or will he be fine without a visit? My quaker parrot had gotten his claw stuck and had pulled his nail back, how long does it take for it to heal?
You're not very specific here. Did he actually manage to break the talon where you see it become part of the fleshy toe? Or is it just the talon itself that broke? It's hard to tell with what you've written.

In any event, yes, I'd be taking him to an avian vet, if you have one near you. They are kinda hard to find, but if you live in a major city there should be a dozen or so that are avian qualified. If you can't find one that has been avian qualified, check around with the normal vets, some of them have taken some courses and may be able to help.

No, none of my birds have ever had this happen, the worst was a cut to the quick on my Quaker and after I did that, I'm not sure who needed medical attention more, him or me :)My quaker parrot had gotten his claw stuck and had pulled his nail back, how long does it take for it to heal?

How much does it cost to open a nail salon? Do you need any special license?

Like Mona Lisa said, it really depends on the size and location of where you want to open the salon. Spa pedicure chairs are expensive ($3000 and up) and the equipment for nails are expensive too. You will most def. need a business license that needs to be renewed and obviously a cosmetology license to do nails for other people. You can easily search for prices of manicure tables, pedi spas, nail files, and machines on google. How much does it cost to open a nail salon? Do you need any special license?
I don't know how much it costs but i now you need some sort of license! How much does it cost to open a nail salon? Do you need any special license?
Oh , gosh...I should know this because my mom opened one not so long ago and she's worked as a manicurist for many years. But, I think it depends on the location and the property value. I am not really sure, and I think you need a license for your specialty in cosmotology...I am not sure about the owning one. Probably not of much help. Good luck!
Most likely you need a business license to open the salon and a cosmetology license to do the nails. Check with your state's licensing board or the local SBA (small business association).

How do I to get gel off my nail extensions?

Hi everyone, i got my gel nails done a week ago. I want to keep my nail extensions but remove the gel (which is just impossible to remove!) any information gratefully appricated. thank you!How do I to get gel off my nail extensions?
    Hi,

If they are full gel nails if you dont know if they are was they constantly in and out of a uva lamp throught out the procdure? if so then they will have to be filed off acetone wont touch them, although if gel was only put on at the end and under the uva lamp once its most likey they are acrylic with gel overlays, in which case you can file over the top of the nails so to get the thin layer of gel off then soak them in acetone for i dunno it will take ages as they new set new acrylic it may take an hour or so even more depends on how thick they are. You will need to leave them for at least 20 mins at a time.

Then file off the jelly like substance then back in the acetone if you keep taking them out too much it wil take longer,

If this seems to much hard work go to a salon it shouldnt be too expensive your only having them taken off.

xHow do I to get gel off my nail extensions?
Some of the answers have been pretty good! I would just like to expand on them a bit though.

I'm not really certain what you mean by 'keeping the extensions.'

OK, if you had acrylic nails put on, and then the tech applied a UV gel topcoat over the acrylic, then yes, you can keep the extensions. Do this by simply removing the UV gel topcoat. Buy a good 180 grit nail file, and remove the UV gel topcoat by gently filing it off of the acrylic. Gel files really easily, and it should not take you very long to do this. But, keep a close eye on what you are doing as you may end up filing off some of the acrylic as well. While filing the gel off, keep using a nail brush or something to take the dust off so that you can see how much you have removed. You'll be able to tell when the UV gel is gone, though you will have to look closely because it has a similar look to that of acrylics. But once you have done a few nails, you'll be able to tell all that much easier when all the gel has been removed.

And if you have real gel nails - real meaning that the tech applied ONLY nail gels, and NO liquid and powder, then they cannot be soaked off. They must be filed off. Remember, no liquid and powder is ever used to make gel nails. Only gels are used - never anything else. If the tech used any liquid and powder, you have acrylic nails, even if they applied a UV gel topcoat, and cured them under a UV lamp - they are still acrylic nails. In this case, go to a tech who has a good amount of experience doing this because an unskilled tech will more than likely ruin your nails by filing off much of your natural nails along with the gel.

    I hope this helps!
    Hey Hunny_X

Sorry To Say But You Cant

Go Back To The Nail Salon And Get Them To Do It =]
There is no way to keep the extensions and not the gel.

The best thing to do is get them soaked off at your nail salon and re-done, the only problem there is that it takes AGES and costs quite a bit of money.

No win I'm afraid! I normally pick mine off, your nails will be damaged underneath (because they file them down before applying the extensions) but that would be the case if you had them soaked off too.

Don't worry if your own nails are thin and rough after you take the fakes off, they will grow again and there won't be any permanant damage.

    Good luck!!!
if it is infact gel. you have to have it filed off. DO NOT do this by yourself. i did and completely screwed up my nails for like 3 months afterwards.

Go get it done at a place.

If they are acrylic then you can put it in acetone.

I'm trying to put up some brackets for drapery. How do I put in those little plastic nail holders?

If I understand what you are talking about.. I use a drill just the size of the plastic holder... no larger.. drill the hole then pUT in the plastic holders(usually they are blue) and then put up the attachment and the screw.... ALL THIS IS ASSUMING that you are not screwing into a wooden stud.. If you are screwing into a wooden stud(wood piece in the wall) then you just need the screw and NOT the plastic pieceI'm trying to put up some brackets for drapery. How do I put in those little plastic nail holders?
You are supposed to drill a hole, but you may not have a drill.

Just mark your spot with a pencil by holding the bracket up where you want it.

(Measure down from the ceiling so you can do the other side the same distance and it won't be crooked!)

If you do not have a drill, just take a nail and hammer it through the mark, move it around till it is big enough to put the plastic thing in the hole.

Hammer it in, and put the screw/nail in the plastic thing. Good luck!I'm trying to put up some brackets for drapery. How do I put in those little plastic nail holders?
    with a hammer lol
drill a hole that is slightly smaller than the plastic anchors.. then gently tap the anchors in with a hammer or some other object that can serve the purpose.. (only needed if u r attaching to drywall and can't get the screws to go directly into some sort of wood.)
screw a small hole in the area you wont the nail then put the little plastic holder in and slightly hit with a hammer to make go in wall
Most of the advice so far is good, but be careful not to drill your hole for the anchor to big. The hole needs to be smaller than the plastic anchor, so when you pound it in, it fits tight. If the hole is to big, the anchor will spin in the hole when you try to screw the screw in. Good Luck.
    drill a hole first
Drill a hole. Tap the plastic bit in the hole. The packaging should tell you the proper drill bit size.
i usually start the hole with the nail, then tap in the plastic holder with a hammer carefully so that you don't make the hole bigger than you need it.
You COULD drill a hole the size of the plastic thingy, then pound it into the hole with a hammer...OR, make a hole with a NAIL the size of the plastic thingy (called an anchor, by the way), pull the nail out, and THEN hammer the plastic thingy into the hole...tada!
We found the best use of the plastic nail holders was to fill up the trash.
You drill a hole for them.
Make a hole with a smaller nail. Tap into place. Use a screw, nails will not hold drapes.

About 4 months. Same thing happened to me. :[How long does it take for a toe nail to grow back?
As you can see with these answers, peoples' nails grow at all different rates. (just like hair) I don't think any one person could tell you but you could take everything that people say and average it together and see an estimate of how long it may take.

    best of luck to you
nails grow about 1mm per month so it would take 6-12 months for them to grow back to regular length

you can't make them grow faster but you can promote healthier nails by rubbing them daily with vitamin e lotion
it will take about 4 weeks for it to be a short toe nail.

but if you're the kind of girl who likes her toe nails to be off the edge of the tip of her toe, then that's more along the lines of a month and a half.

    :]
My dad is an EMT and knows a lot about the body and I know just for a fact a finger nail may grow back within 5-7 months and for a toe nail it should be about the same.
I heard the your fingernails grow about 4 cm per year. I'm not sure if it's different for toe nails. Also if it's different when the whole nail fell off. Sorry about your situation.
My kid broke half of his big toe nail 2 days ago, the doctor said it would grow entirely in about 6 month, so the full nail, 1 year
they grow as fast as coral and as fast as continental plates move.

Just to give you an idea.
Take calcium and vitamins and it will grow back faster :)
    prolly like 2 - 3 months! water ur foot like 10 times a day as much as u can and it will grow back so fast you will be like ';Holy Crap my nails back';
on average, an eighth of an inch a month.
Could take a month or two. Depends on how fast your nails grow.
To fully grow back, it should take about a month
    2months
    About 2 to 8 weeks at my estimate.Ive lost 3 nails(whole nails).
about a month or maybe a week or so!
about a month or a half
Mine grew back in about 24 hours..............
bout six months cuz a friend told me hers hasnt grown back since 6 months. thats gross!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    about a month.
    I agree with Kay floo

    she's a Registered Nurse
    ewwwwww
about six months at the least
it may take six months and never grow back totally again

How do i repair my nail that has started to crack?

my thumb nail has started to crack alittle below the nail line and i don't want it to break off because my brother is getting married saturday and i want to keep my long nails until after the wedding. *i plan on cutting them sunday because of this problem*

is there anything that will help it not breaking off because it will hurt if it does. How do i repair my nail that has started to crack?
If you are planning to paint them for the wedding, then this tip will do the trick: buy some nail glue or super glue and be careful so that you only use a little at a time.... take a small piece of tissue, like kleenex that does not have lotion in it - or you can use a bit of bathroom tissue as well. Place a small dot of glue on the crack in your nail and then lay the small piece of tissue over it. Place another drop of glue over the tissue so that there aren't any dry patches. Get out your hair dryer and put it on 'low' to dry the glue. It will be rough, so you need to use another drop or two of glue to make sure that all is covered. Once this is done and the glue is dry, use a fine-sided nail file to gently smooth the rough spots out. Once this is done, use a basecoat and paint your nails as normal and then a topcoat. This will hold you over 'til after the wedding. I'm a cosmetologist and have used this 'procedure' on my own nails on more than one occasion. Hope it works for you. get a little superglue in there

then paint over it with regular or clear nailpolish

and be careful not to hit it on anything that would cause the superglue to come undone
First fine cut the nail up to the finger end then stat eating dates atleast per day two.

That will sure improvise your nail finishing
First, put a bandaid on it tonight to keep it together then go to a nail salon and get an overlay. They'll put a layer of acrylic over your nail to keep it together and strengthen it. It won't cost much I think for 1 nail it's like $3-$4. Most places are walk-in so do it as soon as you can tomorrow. :)
    go 4 manicure

    put olive oil at nite
sally hansen has this great protective undercoat nailpolish, its a white color. i think before you get your nails done by you or whomever you should use this until sunday, i think it'll keep it safe. It's Called Super Strong, Micro-Fiber Base Coat, you can get it at a drugstore i got mine from Ralph's (a grocery store)

I'm running out of nail polish remover and I have no time to go to the store. How do I make it at home?

I need easy things to use at home.I'm running out of nail polish remover and I have no time to go to the store. How do I make it at home?
Paint a light coloured nail varnish ontop of the one you want to remove and swipe it off...it will pull the old stuff underneath with it. If you are wearing several coats or a very dark colour you will need to do this quite a few times but generaly 2-3 times will remove all traces of your nail polish.

Another one is hair lacquer, spray onto a cotton ball and hold it on your nail for several seconds then start rubbing. This will generally only work on one coat pale colours.I'm running out of nail polish remover and I have no time to go to the store. How do I make it at home?
unless you have lots of special chemicals, you cant make a really effective one

however soaking your nails in substances such as lemon juice for around 15 minutes should help soften the varnish and so you should be able to get it off fairly easily

  • How to do '; Nail 2 trucks up Branches'; on tony hawk's proving ground for ps3?

a truck up branch is when you do a trick (in NTT of course) while the trucks are up. (the trucks are the metal parts that holds the wheels. In other words, just when the wheels are up)

so, get into nail-the-trick and do a trick, like a kickflip or an imposible, and when the board is upside down (trucks up) do another trick, any trick, and then, repeat after than trick the same, another, any trick, while the board is upside down. Once you get those truck-ups tricks, do a final trick to get the board normal again (wheels down) and release the sticks and catch the board

because i acccidently clipped them down and i want them long again.About how long does it take a females to nail to grow?
Toe nails take longer to grow. Depending on how much nutrients you have and your body type, it could take 2 weeks for your toenails to get back to the length it was before. Finger nails do grow in half the time. More calcium, better nail growth.

How do I get my dog to stop being afraid of the nail clippers?

I cut into the vein of his nail when he was a puppy, and he cried and has had issues with getting his nails cut ever since. I used to be able to cut them when he was sleeping, he wakes up and stops me now. I don't want the vet to do it, because he shakes the whole time. when I put the cliiper by his nail, he yelps and pulls his paw away before I even get a chance to cut it... how can I get him to stop being so afriad of the clippers? How do I get my dog to stop being afraid of the nail clippers?
I would sugest exercises with putting mhim on his side an getting him extreamly relaxed...give him a massage..... then once he is completely relaxed bring the clippers out and just show them to him.... if he freaks out just put him back on his side and continue wiht massage.....get him completly relaxed wiht the clippers in front of him on floor.. make sure he can see them... do not trim nails at this time... You jsut want to get him to associate clippers with a good feeling...i.e. relaxation..... after you have him to the point that he does not freak out at the site of them you want to start adding an element....cover his head.....for a while while massaging him..... after you have him to the point you can cover his head then you can start clipping....you want him confortable with the head covering befor you start clipping,..... covering his head is only so he can not see you movine to his feet...It may take a while but as long as you keep this up he should start to come around to the point that you dont have to cove his head any more.....be quick and precise... the last thing you want is another accident involving the clippers....if he freaks out when you start clipping just take a step back and relax him again...... It will take a lot longer to undo this than it took to cause this but it cain be done.... YOu must be calm the whole time and do not anticipate reactions .... he will feed on it and will cause him to revert to old habits....

this process will take a while a couple weeks..... Just vbecause you get him to calm down and relax on the first or second try does not mean it is time to move on.....only move to the covering stage after you can bring the clippers out and he just lays there....relaxed... a few time in a row.... good luck and i hope this helps

somebody else mentioned a walk i cant believe i forgot it it is very inportant and will help things move along quicker if you walk him first befor you do the exercises

I just have to touch on the aproch that the next poster posted... when you reward a dog while he is excited mistrustful or in any way agitated then you are saying its alright to be that way.... it may have worked for them but ultiamatly they are using human phsycology on a dog witch does not work. Dogs respond to a leader not a begger..... They are much more likly to allow somthing to happen if you mean buisness.....If they are controling your reactions then they are the packk leader and have not reason to allow you to trim nails, giive baths or what ever it is you want to do,.How do I get my dog to stop being afraid of the nail clippers?
My grandma's dog was the same way. Ofer him a treat before and after you clip his nails.
Try taking him for a really long walk. Then put the nail clippers in front of him so he can see the clippers and give him a massage. He will eventually associate the clippers with a massage and will like to get his nails clipped. I saw this on the Dog Whisperer. He is awesome. You should watch his show, it's on the National Geographic Channel. Before you clip his nails you should take him for a walk or use up his energy somehow. Then they will be more willing to just lay there becuase they have no energy.
My dog has the same issue but I never cut her too short ever she is just scared to death of the nail clippers but I have a solution that might work for ur dog because it works for mine. Go to a walmart or a hardware store and purchase a ';Dremel'; it is a handheld wood grinder. U can grind his nails down instead of cutting them. It REALLY worked on my dog and it is less stressful for u and ur dog. Try it and good luck!
I had the same problem and it took a long time to overcome the fear.

Get his favorite treat and keep lots of them nearby. This will not be a one-time get them all done attempt, but it will help him get over the previous trauma. Hold him in your lap, if he's small enough, and just stroke and pet him. Give him a treat. Pick up the nail clippers and hold them in front of him, letting him sniff them. Pet and reassure him. If you're nervous, it will translate to him. Put the clippers down, give him another treat and stroke his paw. Continue stroking his paw and slowly pick up the clippers. Gently spread his paw out and try that first nail. If he doesn't let you do it, don't worry. Put the clippers down and continue to pet him and tell him he's doing good. It may take you an hour to do one nail, but eventually, he should let you clip one. Make very sure not to clip the quick again. Sometimes it's best to do just the tiniest bit, even though it's not the length you want. It will help reassure him that it's not always going to hurt. You need to re-gain his trust. Once you get that one nail trimmed, pet him and let him up. If he's content to remain with you, try another nail. If not, let him go and try again in an hour or so. Don't force him as he will see the whole thing as a negative procedure.

Remember, he will sense your nervousness, so you need to be calm. Don't get mad if he struggles. It took a long time for my oldest bulldog to trust the clippers again.

Another, although expensive method, is to get a cordless hand held Dremmel tool. Instead of cutting, it grinds the nail down. Lots of dogs do not like the sound or the sensation however. Just remember, your pooch isn't mistrustful of you, but of the tool.

    Good luck!
I dremel my dogs nails, all three of them. I have not made them bleed since starting this.
My dog is the same way - he used to hide whenever I even opened the drawer I kept the clippers in. I had to give up after he bit me and now he goes to the groomer once a month for it. I found a place that he likes and they like him. As long as he can't see me, he's fine for some reason. It does take about 3 people to do his nails though.
My dog has the same problem my dad has to hold him down and give him a treat.

ABOUT how much does it cost to open up a nail salon, and what do you need?

well if you want to open a shop to do it, then it,s a case of keep feeding the tiger .

    The rent for the shop

the business rates for the shop

the water rates for the shop

    the electricity for the shop

    the equipment for the shop

and that's before you put a loaf of bread on your table to feed yourself

    think very carefully about it

or you can borrow a little space in a hairdressers and pay them a small fee each week

or go mobile and do it from your car or from home as a ';hobby'; for now

I think my nail is going to fall off. What does it feel like? And how long will it take to grow back?

My finger got hit by a hockey ball and it's gone dark purple except for a tiny bit. That happened 17 days ago. I got a blood blister on the other side of the finger as well, which is still there.I think my nail is going to fall off. What does it feel like? And how long will it take to grow back?
your nail is not going to fall of.

your finger has just gone blue or purple because it is brused, this is because when your finger got hit some of the capileries in your finger broke... or something like that.

your nail will not fall of, it has just got a bruse under the nail. i have a friend in my school that has the same thing.I think my nail is going to fall off. What does it feel like? And how long will it take to grow back?
basically your nail protects all of the raw skin... so its basically all raw skin (the skin thats under the dead skin) so it feels really bad! feels like you lost your skin there or been skinned.

I'd say about a mount for it to cover most of your finger

Typically, 9 watt UVA bulbs are used. Most lamp units use four of these bulbs. How Long does a bruise under your toe nail take to heal?

I dont remember banging my toe, but a few weeks ago about four to five, i noticed a bruise on my big toenail, it hasnt gone away. It doesnt hurt and it hasnt gotten bigger. theres a small white spot on the bruise now.My mom said it looks fine and that we shouldn't waste money going to the DRHow Long does a bruise under your toe nail take to heal?
The bruise has probably healed by now, but when you get a bruise under your nail it stains the nail. You will just have to wait for the toe nail to grow out. The small white spot is probably a little damage to the nail.

I had one a couple of years ago on my thumb. It took 5 months to grow out. Toe nails take even longer. Expect it to take a year to grow out.

Until then you may wish to buy some toe nail polish or wear closed toe shoes. How Long does a bruise under your toe nail take to heal?
I've smashed mine a time or three and it can take months to lose the discoloration. Some times the nail will actually fall off, and you will then have to grow a new one. It's not painful, so don't worry about it.

The doctor wouldn't be able to do anything for it, so just be patient, it will heal in time.
It can take up to three full months for a toenail to grow out completely. That's what the white spot is- damage to the nail. It is nothing to see a doctor about, though. You probably bruised your toe by stubbing it, or maybe by wearing tight or uncomfortable shoes that pressed weirdly on your toe.
Depending on how far down, up to 6 months. I sprained half my foot and had a bruise that healed after a year of slowly moving from my joint on my big toe up and thru the nail, until it just grew out.
It usually has to grow out - takes about 6 months or so!

I dropped something on my big toe this summer, and a small bruise formed. It's growing out with the nail now.

Unless you have pain, there's no need to see the doctor.
Dont go to the doctor, unless they see the nail within an hour or so of the injury there is nothing they can do. It is just dried blood under the nail, it wont do you any harm. It depends how bad the trauma was on how long it will take to heal. It will just grow out with the nail so it will probably be discoloured for some time.
This happened to me and my toe was sore for about a week and then it turned purple and blue, then yellowish color and then the whole nail fell off! It regrew in about 7 months. It was bruised for about a few months b4 it fell off. I guess it depends on how bad the bruising is.....if its not bad I doubt longer than a couple months and it probably won't fall off like mine did. No need to go to a doctor if it isn't bothering you.

When doing a nail overlay with extension, how do you apply the extension to the natural nail?

Is the extension just a regular nail tip? thank youWhen doing a nail overlay with extension, how do you apply the extension to the natural nail?
Just a little nail glue on the edges, and apply the overlay on top. Be sure you treat the nail bed with an anti-fungal antiseptic before you add the tip/extension %26amp; overlay. When doing a nail overlay with extension, how do you apply the extension to the natural nail?
Strictly speaking, you glue a plastic tip extension and apply product over that. However, sometimes a preform is put in place and the natural nail gets an overlay while the extention is ';sculpted'; out with acrylics or with gel.
either you put the tip on and apply the product or you use a horseshoe to sculpt the extension

Your mom is a liar and a passive agressive *****. What is she gonna do, throw you out for dying your hair??? Just do it, and as far as the nail polish, you can carry it around in your purse and put it on at school. Your'e not five. Do what you want to do, not what your mom says. She doesn't OWN you, and you are a gift that she was blessed with, not a toy she can play with as she sees fit. I guess she forgot what it was like when she was your age. I bet she was waaaay worse...
How old are you? Maybe she thinks you are too young. Ask her for ';highlights'; (it sounds less scary than a full dye job). As for the nail polish- it is not ';gothic'; anymore, but a popular color. Just let her know it comes off. Ask her if you can just wear it on the weekend, and then she can see that it's not a big deal. Wet n' wild black creme polish is less than $2; maybe she will let you get that.
just explain to her that you are old and can make your own decisions based on your appearance. say that girls in your school have mom's who let them dye their hair and paint there nails black, so why cant you? say you can pay for it yourself and you just wanna express your unique style!

How to do you get Pink Nail Polish out of clothing?

Yeah? How to do you get Pink Nail Polish out of clothing?
This method should work for most fabrics: After testing for colorfastness on a hidden spot, sponge over the stain with pure acetone, available at beauty-supply shops and drugstores. Then launder the clothing as you normally would. Never use acetone on fabrics that contain triacetate or acetate (check care labels), because it can dissolve the cloth. For those, use amyl acetate, available at drugstores. How to do you get Pink Nail Polish out of clothing?
    Nail polish remover?
.... well theres always nail polish remover..

I had my nails done a couple days ago and i want to tke the fake nail of how?

with nail polish remover aceitone or none acetone?I had my nails done a couple days ago and i want to tke the fake nail of how?
If you are trying to remove acrylic nails, you can try it yourself at home with acetone based nail polish remover. If they are gel nails, those need to be removed at the salon. Even acrylic nails can be best removed at a salon, just so that there is minimal damage to your own natural nail bed.I had my nails done a couple days ago and i want to tke the fake nail of how?
To remove artificial enhancements from your nails you will have to use pure acetone.

If you have a gel overlay on the nails or gel enhancements you will have to first break the gel seal. You can do this with a nail file. File the nails to remove the shine.

Pour some acetone in a glass bowl and soak your nails. It will take about 30 minutes per hand. With the nails in the acetone, use an orangewood stick to scrape off the loosened product. Soak and scrape until all the product is removed.
if you got them done at a nail salon.. ur going to have to wait a few more days before u take them.. cuz i got them off like 3 days later.. and they hurt so much.. also it damaged my nails.. so wait a few days and then go to a nail salon and tell them u want it off.. and they will do it for u.. but u have to pay.. not too expensive
To remove fake nails properly, with little to no damage to the nail bed, soak them in pure acetone. This method takes awhile so be patient, watch a movie or something while soaking.

There are kits to remove them that are usually pure acetone to soak in and plastic scrubbing fingers to rub against gently, they will remove the nail as it dissolves. Do NOT pry. just dissolve slowly, you can use a toothbrush to occasionally scrub off the softened bits. Then use a strong moisturizer on your hands afterwards because the acetone will dry out the skin.
Just be prepared to have terrible nails for a little while. I know you can get them taken off at the salon you might want to just do that. Although, I'll warn you, your nails will most likely be paper thin and look a little odd for a while until they grow out to past where the artificial nails were put on. I used to use nail tips and then the powder and liquid they do in the salons, but after so many days I wanted to take them off, so I pried them off. This will rip layers off your nails if your nails aren't very strong. I'm not saying you're going to loose huge pieces of your nail or anything (because you shouldn't), but you should be careful and not rush getting them off if you do it at home. Soak them an acetone nail polish remover (this will take ages) and then slowly work them off and make sure you use a nail hardener nail polish to try to stregethen them after they're off. Good luck!

How do I remove my gel nails without having to go to a nail salon? Acetone?

Everyone says that acetone works and so I have a nail polish remover that has acetone in it! but, some people say that it doesn't work. i have like, one night to get them off before I go on a date and my nails look absolutely haggard. i'm like, broke and so i can't go to the salon to get them removed. 2 broke and i was able to peel some of it off but there is still leftover gel stuff. it kind of feels like glass. anyways... what should i do? i know that they're gel nails. the lady didn't use a powder.. she used some weird liquid stuff and i had to put my nails in and out under a light thing. anyways. help?????How do I remove my gel nails without having to go to a nail salon? Acetone?
You cannot soak gel nails off. You already asked this question, and my best friend answered it for you. If you don't believe her, then do this. Try soaking your gel nails in pure acetone for a half hour, and see what happens. Nothing, thats what will happen. Gel nails cannot be soaked off. Period. Go ahead and try it. And if they do come off, then you didn't get gel nails after all. You got acrylics, but you most likely paid for gel nails, which is always higher in cost than for acrylics. Also, gel nails are NOT made from some ';weird'; liquid stuff. They look just like gel because they are gel. They are not 'liquid stuff'.

Oh, and 'everyone' that says acetone will work has no clue as to what gel nails even are. They are wrong by saying to use acetone. Like I said, try it if you want to. If you have real gel nails, acetone will no affect them in the least bit. But whatever. Some people just won't listen...

If you want to see what REAL UV gels looks like, follow this link...(notice they are NOT liquid...)

    http://www.cnd.com/Home/homelink-consume鈥?/a>

Now, those are real, top of the line UV gels. If the ones that were supposedly used on your nails didn't look like this, then you do not have gel nails. Geez, just how much easier can we make it for you, LOL! You can listen to a bunch of kids, or you can listen to a nail pro with over 18 years experience in doing nails. Its totally up to you...How do I remove my gel nails without having to go to a nail salon? Acetone?
Soak your nails in an acetone nail polish remover for a few minutes at a time. Every few minutes file across the surface of the nail to remove a bit of the softened gel. Repeat until all of the gel is off. Maybe the folks who said it wouldn't work were using nail polish remover without acetone?

Also, you need to soak, not just rub with cotton. Hope this helps:-)
    soak it in nail polish remover.. the gel will just melt,then u can pull them off without it feeling like anything.. dont just pop them off,that hurts,good luck :}

How much does petco charge to cut a dogs nail...And do they cut rabbits nail.?

havent took my dog to get its nails cut to petco in more than a year b/c i cut them myself but now i decided to take him to petco so can any1 tell me how much it cost and do they cut rabbits nails alsoHow much does petco charge to cut a dogs nail...And do they cut rabbits nail.?
Rabbit nails are easy to do yourself. Rabbits have this weird inborn thing that makes them lay all still when you place them on their back. The trick is of course to get them turned around, but that is a matter of practice, and most rabbits will easily let you do it. Once the rabbit is laying there you use a pair of cat/small animal nail scissors to cut the tips off the nails. How much does petco charge to cut a dogs nail...And do they cut rabbits nail.?
The Petsmart by me charges $8 to cut a dog's nails. I do not know about rabbits.
Well it's going to depend on your area. I went in today to get an estimate on the grooming of my dog and I belive that the nail cut alone cost around $16. They do individual treatment prices based on the size of the dog. They did however have a package that you could purchase on top of any basic bath package and it included nail trimming, a special shampoo and conditioner, and a treat. It cost around $15 or $20 on top of the $53 bath fee for my chow/husky mix. As for rabbits, I don't belive they do them, but you would have to go there and ask yourself. I know that if they do have a groomer who knows how to do it they are sometimes willing to do it for the same price as a smaller dog.

How do I remove pieces of napkin stuck to my wood table with nail polish remover?

(Some soaked through the cottonballs onto the napkin through to my wood nightstand). I tried peeling off the bits of paper but it's removing the finish. Never will I polish my nails in the bedroom again. Ugh!How do I remove pieces of napkin stuck to my wood table with nail polish remover?
Sounds like the nail polish remover partially dissolved the finish on your nightstand and when it dried, the napkin stuck to it. you can release the bits of napkin with the same nail polish remover. Use a q-tip moistened with the nail polish remover and carefully apply to redissolve the finish. The bits of napkin should come right off.

Unfortunately, you have marred the original finish on your nightstand. If it is a polyurethane finish, you should be able to touch it up. The same goes for a varnish or shellac finish. If you don't like the results, you can always strip the finish from only the tabletop and apply a new finish.

Good luck with your refinishing project.

How do you get a set nail polish stain to come out of sweat pants?

Why do you care if SWEAT PANTS are stained, sweat pant mama? How do you get a set nail polish stain to come out of sweat pants?
try using nail polish remover on it...
wash it real good with spot remover it shuold work that happened to me dont worry
If the nail polish remover won't get it out(acetone) nothing else will. Paint it over with same color as sweat pants whether you use nail polish, or paint.
I don't think you can get it out with anything. Besides bleach, but that would ruin your clothing aswell.
    BLEACH
Try a different type of nail polish remover.
Stainz-R-Out. It's banana oil and you can get it on ebay for about $13 shipped. It does work, my daughter got red nail polish all over my comforter and it came out.

How do you remove acrylic nails without having to go back to the nail salon?

soak your nails in nail polish remover...

if possible, try to buy one that is 100% acetone.

that's what they would use in the salon to remove your nails and it works a lot faster than weaker removers.

you should be able to find it at a beauty supply store or drug store.

you can help the process along by cutting your acrylic nails down to wear your real nail starts before soaking. you can pry/peel the rest off carefully as the acrylic softens. it should take about a half hour or so.

you might notice that when you remove your fingers from the solution, they'll feel cold quickly. it has something to do with the ions in the acetone evaporating extremely quickly...just remember to wash your hands off when you're done.

definitely put on some nail strengthener polish when you're done. your real nails will be a lot more fragile and thin from the acrylic nail process. your thicker, regular nails should grow in a few weeks.=]How do you remove acrylic nails without having to go back to the nail salon?
go to he drug store and buy pure acetone its the same ting they use in the salon...some nail polish removerhas it in they and will work too just soak your fingers in it until they come offHow do you remove acrylic nails without having to go back to the nail salon?
Most have it right - pure acetone soak for about 25-30 minutes.

BYW, soaking them in warm water doesn't do a single thing to remove acrylic nails, LOL! If it did, then they would come off in the bathtub!

And do NOT pry, or tear them off. You WILL damage your natural nails by doing this. Trust me on that one.
a good soak in nail polish remover with acetone will help to remove them... just be cautious since your natural nail is so thin, you really dont want to shred what little bit is left.. use a strengthener to help with that problem once they are off... good luck!
I soak mines In nail polish remover until you can remove them with a cuticle stick.
soak your hands in warm water for a long time and gently tug at them. dont pull them hard or try cutting them off because this will damage your real nails
Soak your hands in nail polish remover with acetone and they will start to come free and you can get them off. It can take awhile and smells really bad and still might hurt a bit , but I did it pretty easily.
Get a roommate who is from Vietnam.
Look in your pharmacy for products
Soak your fingers in nail polish remover. Use an orange stick (tapered orange wood sticks used for pushing cuticles) and gently push it between your real nail and the acrylic one. Soaking times may vary. Never pull the nail as you can damage your skin.

Does anyone know how I can MAKE some nasty tasting nail polish to remind me not to bite my nails?

What can I add to some of the clear nail polish I have to make it taste disgusting? I was a MAD CRAZY NAIL BITER!!!

I had to do it all on my own =(

People would constantly tell me why my nails were so short and

why i bite them. It made me think and realize that its true and its just a bad habit.

I started painting my nails all kinds of crazy designs and i stopped!

It wasnt easy because i kept peeling it off haha,

    but now i rarely bite them. You gotta REALLY be commited and just think every time, ';Im not going to. I haven't so why should i start now?';

JUst have fun with it, and keep thinking how pretty they will look really really soon . =)

How much does it cost to plug or repair a tire from a nail?

Any good tire place to get it done at and how much will it usually cost? Are there anyplace that does it for free since I did my tires off the internet. How much does it cost to plug or repair a tire from a nail?
A patch can run between 10 and 20 dollars, depending on where you have it repaired.

Make sure that your chosen repair facility uses a patch or plug-patch combination on the INSIDE of the tire. Do not use external ';plug'; type repairs. These are not only useless, they are potentially dangerous.

Have your tire inspected by a qualified professional.

As to your second question: do YOU work for free? How much does it cost to plug or repair a tire from a nail?
If it is just a nail hole you can patch it yourself with a kit for under $5, just be sure you're near a source of air as the process can deflate the tire some if your not proficient at the repair. Please be aware that technically these repairs are considered temporary and should be followed up with an inside patch which means dismounting the tire and re-balancing afterward. If you go for the self repair, usually the stores will have two or more choices in different price ranges. Spend more and get the set with the better tools as the cheaper ones are harder to use and easier to bend or break. Before all this, get a newspaper and check the ads. In my area, Townfair Tire will repair any flat no matter where you bought the tire for free. This generates a lot of good will and they hope to get your business next time around.Good luck.
America's Tire Company, a national chain will fix flats for free.
In Cleveland,Oh you can find an auto shop to plug your tire for $5-$10. You can also pick up a patch kit at Autozone,Advanced Auto parts and the like for $10-$20, that way you can fix future flats as well, much cheaper that way.
it will cost an average of $15 to $20, or you can buy a plug kit at walmart for about $5 and do it your self...they do include instructions
It costs about $12 where I live
    usually about $20
Depends on where you live, somewhere between $20 and $30.

If it is not to baldly worn or old, other wise the garage may order you to purchase a new one or report you to the insurance company.
You can't plug or repair a tire with a nail.
you can spend $3 on a kit and do it yourself. Just follow the directions in the kit. Enlarge the hole, put the plug cord into the tool, insert until it's almost through, then pull the tool back out to double up the plug. It takes about 2 minutes. Otherwise, ANY tire shop can do it for you and usuall charge about $5.
check with the company you bought them from but I doubt that you will find it for free. It cost about $16 where I am from A kit from Auto Zone is not expensive either.
    between 5-8 dollars.
$8 any tire shop...why would you get it done for free? Nothing else is free...

There is a huge bump and it is very delicate. It hurts alot and sometimes puss comes out.I think i have an infection on my big toe. My nail digs into the side. Does anybody know how to get rid of it?
if you can't dig it out yourself and dig ALL of it out from under the skin see a doctor they will prescribe antibiotics for it for the infection, and often times this pushes the nail out as it heals. If that dosent work a doctor will pull the nail out in a quick procedureI think i have an infection on my big toe. My nail digs into the side. Does anybody know how to get rid of it?
first, you soak it so the ingrown nail is easier and less painful to remove. then try to pick it out with your finger. if this is too painful, then put something under your nail until it has space. put some neosporin on it. this will take 1-2 weeks.
You need to clean it put Tea Tree Oil on it you need to cut your nail that digs in on an angle on side of toe put that on a couple times a day for a couple of weeks
The bump on the side sounds awful. All my toenails curl inward. I'm sorry you go through this.
its a ingrown toenail I had about 3 of these best thing go to the dr have him take care of it .

How do I get the second coat of nail polish to dry quickly?

I have no problem getting nail polish to dry to the touch...but after I do the second coat, and its dry to the touch, if I do anything, I get indents!!! If I only do one coat and wait 12-14 hours then do the next it's ok...but any less than 12-14 hours and I get indents! How do I get the second coat of nail polish to dry quickly?
For your nails to dry really quick after you are done painting the first coat fill a bowl up with really cold ice water. Then soak your nails in that for 1-2 minutes. It sets the polish and makes your nails dry quicker. Dry off your hands paint a second coat then do the same thing again. I have always had that problem and this works really well. Good Luck....

In your instance, I would use the floor leveler regardless of what the brochure says. In fact, not all wood floors (and I'm not refering to laminates) are nailed down... some are actually glued down, others are glued and nailed for maximum installation, too.

I suggest that you utilize a wood flooring glue in that area where you have your problem... where the floor leveling will be used. Although troweling a wood flooring glue during your floors installation is much more extensive and requires a bit of elbow grease, consider doing this on the entirety of the floor.

These glues can be purchased at many retailers and shouldn't cost too much extra money; the expense is well worth the improved installation... and it resolves the issue you have where there was a leveler.

There is a product on the market called ';Mavala Stop'; designed to prevent users from nail biting with it's bitter taste. It is colorless, so people won't know you're wearing it, or think you are wearing nail poish =)

The listed price on the link provided is $7.70 for a 10 ml bottle, though it may be cheaper if you do a little browsing, be it online or in a pharmacy.

Best of luck!Does anyone know how to make an anti-nail biting liquid?
dip your fingertips in jabenero juice or some other kind of really hot sauce

NAIL POLISH REMOVER. Ughhh that stuff's so nasty.
have a good manicure , so your nails look good ...then condition your mind , when your nails start growing and looking even better, you will not want to bite them any more.

people try all sorts of stuff, but the mind generally wins every time.

They eat right through all the muti %26amp; potions, and burn their eyes and skin to boot....
If you don't like hot sauce use it .
Have you ever tried this? Simply put a large rubber band around your wrist. Every time you catch yourself biting your nails, simply give the rubber band a snap. Over a few weeks time, this should drastically reduce your nail biting as you become more and more conscious of it.
You can not make any solution. Simply go to a pharmacy to the section where you will find nail clippers. Look in that area and you will find several brand of liquid to help stop biting nails. It worked for my girlfriends husband who had the same problem.
I think they already make such a product. You might want to do a little research on the internet.

How long do I need to soak acrylic nails in nail varnish remover to take them off?

Soak for a couple of hours in the varnish remover and then also soak them for a long time in hot water. The hot water should make them be able to pull them off.

good luck xHow long do I need to soak acrylic nails in nail varnish remover to take them off?
Use pure acitone to soak them off. It's a lot faster. How long do I need to soak acrylic nails in nail varnish remover to take them off?

How long does it take for nail polish to dry?

2 coats...How long does it take for nail polish to dry?
It generally takes about 2-3 minutes for nail polish to completely dry (that is if you let it dry by itself, as you probably know you can buy nail polish drying appliances) but some nail polishs are different and may take less/more time to dry. I have a fluoro orange nail polish I use regularly and it takes about 2 minutes to dry but on the other hand I use a light cream colour nail polish and that takes up to 4 minutes to dry. So all up it depends on the brand of nail polish and how you intend on drying it.

And* of course if you are going to be applying more then one coat it will take a bit longer for it to dry but not much longer.

Hope I helped! How long does it take for nail polish to dry?
Well, first off, i would just like to suggest, putting the coats SEPERATELY (as if you didn't know, but jus to make sure ;)

I would say around 4-5 minute

P.S --%26gt; a lil trick i use, is that after it's all dry, i soak emm in cold water, which seals the polish, and put sum olive oil on my nails which makes em look REALLY SHINY (like a pro) and even strengthins your nail

    Hope i helped =]
Depends on the type... Choose a quick dry to do it faster, and always make sure the first coat is dry before attempting the second one!!!!
well u shoudl paint one coat then let it dry for about 5 min then do a second caot and let that dry 7 min to be safe so toget her with painting u nails it takes about 15 min ^^
with a blow dryer 1-2 minutes without a dryer to be safe i would say 5-7
Less than a minute if you apply them one at a time.
    it takes about 2 minutes

  • I'm trying to cover up some screw/nail holes. I filled the hole but how do I match the paint?

I need to paint over it now, but how do I match the paint?

I rent, and so I found some paint in the garage - seems like leftover. I tried one of the buckets, but it was a little too yellow (seems like custom paint).

The wall seems mostly white, but man, how do I match it? I need to paint over the wrong yellowish paint now.

thank you in advance.I'm trying to cover up some screw/nail holes. I filled the hole but how do I match the paint?
Most paint companies have the ability to match paint the paint exactly but you need a sample. It there a piece of molding that can be removed to match?I'm trying to cover up some screw/nail holes. I filled the hole but how do I match the paint?
If you have a sample, take it to the store for them to match it. If you don't have a sample, go to the store. There should be a paint chip area with sample pieces that you can take home with you. Select all the ones that appear to be similar to your current color. At home, compare the different pieces and hopefully you will find one that matches. The store will then be able to make up a batch of paint for you.
See if yu can get a chip of the paint off the wall and take it to Lowes; Home Depot or Wal Mart. they are all pretty good when it comes to matching paint. I know one of them (not Wal Mart) guarantees to match any color with a paint chip

Just remember though, if the paint has been on there for awhile it may not match perfectly..
Ask your landlord what color it is.
well, if there is a loose piece of molding or a section that has the paint you can remove, you can take it to Home Depot or Lowes (forget which one does it) and they have a computer match that actually reads the color via a special scanner they have.
Try some of the white toothpastes. Maybe you can find one that will match. You can also use toothpastes to patch nail holes in a pinch.
Your problem is ...you need just a teeny tiny bit of it. Therefore, since store color matching is for no less than a quart -and you need a teaspoon- you'll pay dearly for the fix.

But you may not need to match it -exactly, anyway. The holes should blend pretty well if the color is even just close. Plus, some may be covered up by pictures, a cabinet, etc.

What I suggest is that you get a cheap set of markers of various colors and just dab on a color that's close; or maybe one, then the other, for a blend. You'll need to sand off the old paint first, of course. Also consider white shoe polish ( if white is the taget color) and various shades of liquid correction fluid (for fixing typos on paper).

    Remember -you're the only one who knows where the ';problems'; are -others will probably never see them once you given them the ';fix.';

How do I get rid of ingrown toe nail when you can't get to the part that is ingrown?

Both my big toes have ingrown nails and the nail already goes pretty far into my toe even when it's not ingrown so I can't even get close to the ingrown part. Hydrogen proxcyde dosen't seem to be helping with the infectoin. My mother and brother have had the same thing happen just not as bad and were able to get rid of it over a few years but nothing seems to work for me.How do I get rid of ingrown toe nail when you can't get to the part that is ingrown?
soak in hot water and epsom salts. Gently push the skin away from the toe. Do this continually to ease the pressure.

You can buy solution at the pharmacy to dissolve the embedded nail. How do I get rid of ingrown toe nail when you can't get to the part that is ingrown?
You need to see a podiatrist to get this cleared up. It should not take years to get rid of an ingrown toenail. Ingrown toenails can be taken care of by the podiatrist in one or two visits.
    go to a foot doctor
That's going to take a trip to the podiatrist. You shouldn't try to remove it yourself. Plus, now that is infected, your going to need some antibiotics, before it become worse. Sometimes there is out patient office procedure that can be done to alleviate the pain. Go before you lose the nail.
well if you are dealing with an ingrown toe nail then all you have to do is cut the nail short then give it a week and it will eventually fall out. Hope that helps!!
Cut the nail as far in as you can get it and fish the ingrown out with a pair of sterilized tweezers. If you can get that part out, the infection will probably come out too.Use some Anbesol on it to numb it before you go fishing!! Good luck!
Put a piece of a cotton ball under the ingrown part and let it grow out a little, then grab it with tweezers and yank that sucker out, at least thats what I do, and I have done it quite a few times.
in the middle of the nail make a small cut. It will take some of the pressure off the ingrown part and make it easier to eradicate the painful thing. Then soak the feet and hopefully more will come out.
You will probably need to go to a doctor. They perform surgery to remove the nail and give you oral antibiotics to fix the infection. Otherwise get yourself an exacto knife and start digging :)
Sounds like you need to go to the doctor, they will cut it out for you...
Well, in the future, cut your toenails differently -- I have the same problem. Cut your toenails straight across the toe, instead of cutting downwards towards the foot. I know, it's tempting.

Generally after several days the nail will grow up a little bit, and you can pry the ingrown nail out with a tweezers or a clippers (but be careful, it will hurt, and it might bleed a little.) Be sure to clean up your foot after to tend to an ingrown toenail that bleeds.
you have to really go in the skin it will hurt, but that is the only way to get a ingrown toe nail out, i know i had it.
Well, you should leave it alone for a day. I know it will hurt, but it will be easier to get out. Also, try not to cut too deep because it results in ingrowns. You would gte surgery if you do that to much.
Get to a podiatrist. The more you mess with the toe yourself the worse that it will get. I made that mistake. You may need what is called a partial nail avulsion to prevent the nail from becoming ingrown again. The procedure is quick and relatively painless. I had this done on my left big toe about two years ago and have not had a problem since.
everyone will have a fit about this but this is what my bro does........put ambelsol on your toe to numb it then dig it out with tweezers
You should go see a podiatrist.
    pedicure!
Thats disgusting! How am I supposed to each my mushroom soup tonight?
Get a padicure, that works! They will help you.
