Use a bonder first. I think it's OPI that makes a really good bonder that is basically a rubberised base coat that gives the polish a good surface to cling to, then when you apply the polish color, wrap the color under the nail too, don't just brush it on the top, essentially, scrape the brush on the edge of the nail so that the underside gets a depositing of color as well, this will help seal the ends of the nails from moisture, and finally, pick a real good top coat.. Revlon has a great like 7 day or whatever colorstay top coat that works wonders and you will also want to sweep that on the underside of the nail too just to lock it all in place. Let nails dry for at least 30 minutes before washing hands or using lotion. Voila! How do i get nail polish to not come off when i wash my hair/shower?
well, wait until it is super dry then add a clear coat on the nails, or if you are mega paranoid about the nails, put rubber gloves on and tighten them with like string. i did that once, and it seemed to work pretty well.
apply a clear top coat, that'll hold the color a little longer
